The Stragardalake 21 is a unique experience that starts and finishes along the scenic lakeside promenade of Desenzano del Garda, right in front of Piazza Matteotti, in the heart of this charming town overlooking Lake Garda.
After less than a kilometer, a short but lively uphill stretch leads us inland, through the Lugana vineyards, where peace, history, and nature blend in perfect harmony. Here, at km 5, the first Food & Music point welcomes us with great music and local culinary specialties.
We continue into the heart of the Morainic Hills, traveling along roads that on June 24, 1859, were the scene of one of the fiercest battles for Italian independence.
At km 10, we find the second Food & Music point, another opportunity to refresh yourself and enjoy the unique atmosphere of this route.
Shortly after, at kilometer 13, we’ll pass one of the area’s most iconic landmarks: the majestic Tower of San Martino, built in 1880 to honor those who fought and died for the unification of Italy. It is visited by millions of people every year.
Halfway through the route, the reward for our efforts begins to be felt: we head back towards Desenzano, skirting the border with Sirmione, where we find the third Food & Music point, ready to launch ourselves into the last 3.3 km along the spectacular lakeside promenade. We will pass through the Port of Rivoltella, the splendid Spiaggia d’Oro beach, and the Idroscalo Park, before crossing the finish line under the arch, at the same point where we started, surrounded by the beauty of the historic center of Desenzano del Garda.
