STRAGARDALAKE: THANK YOU 3,000!
THE DREAM HAS COME TRUE
PARTICIPANTS FROM 19 COUNTRIES EXPERIENCED THE WONDERS OF THE GARDA HILLS
Today, Sunday, January 11, was an exciting day on Lake Garda.
From the early hours of the morning, the center of Desenzano del Garda came alive with participants in STRAGARDALAKE, an event that, in its first edition, has already attracted record numbers and an international flavor, with over 3,000 runners from 19 countries.

The Half Marathon started at 9:00 a.m., followed by the 10Km and 5Km Urban races. A long line of runners colored the Desenzano lakefront, creating a unique spectacle.
Pietro Avanzi, Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Desenzano, Stefania Lorenzoni, Councilor for Tourism of the Municipality of Desenzano, Alessandro Boccafolio, Councilor of the Municipality of Desenzano, Claudia Carzeri, Regional Councilor of Lombardy, Paola Mancini, Senator, Emanuele Bonotto, President of Hotel Promotion, and Andrea De Luca, Deputy Director of Rai Sport.

Recognized as an official FIDAL race for the competitive 21 km and 10 km events, Stragardalake featured three courses—21 km, 10 km, and 5 km Urban—designed to engage athletes, enthusiasts, and walkers.
The 10 km and 21 km races started from the lakefront and continued inland towards Garda, through the morainic hills and vineyards of Lugana.
The Half Marathon continued to one of the most representative symbols of the area: the Tower of San Martino, an iconic point along the entire route. The return to Desenzano then offered one of the most evocative moments of the race, with the last 3 km along the lakeside promenade.
Participants in the 5 km Urban race were able to experience the heart of Desenzano, passing through the iconic points of the Garda town: Piazza Matteotti and Piazza Malvezzi, Desenzano Castle, the Cathedral, Via Roma, and the Roman Villa, before returning to the lakefront for the final finish line.

Along the routes, participants were accompanied by Food & Music areas, with live music, entertainment, and traditional local flavors, transforming the event into a real experience to enjoy and share.
Awaiting them at the finish line was the final Food & Music area and the awards ceremony, which concluded an intense and unforgettable day.

At the awards ceremony, Pietro Avanzi, Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Desenzano, Stefania Lorenzoni, Councilor for Tourism of the Municipality of Desenzano, Alessandro Boccafolio, Councilor of the Municipality of Desenzano, Debora Massari, Councilor for Tourism of the Lombardy Region, Diego Invernici, Councilor of the Lombardy Region, Emanuele Bonotto, President of Hotel Promotion, and Marco Matteo Mensi, Commander of the Local Police of Desenzano.

The Stragardalake Organizing Committee, together with the Municipal Administration of Desenzano del Garda, would like to thank the police and the more than 600 volunteers and operators who ensured the participation and enjoyment of athletes and the public in complete safety.
We would also like to thank the outstanding partners of Stragardalake, who supported this extraordinary first edition.
