2,500 PARTICIPANTS AND 18 COUNTRIES REPRESENTED FOR THE FIRST HALF MARATHON IN DESENZANO DEL GARDA!
21 – 10 – 5KM: A JOURNEY TO DISCOVER THE CAPITAL OF GARDA
The press conference held on November 28, at Desenzano del Garda Castle, officially turned the spotlight on the first edition of Stragardalake, the event that on January 11, 2026, will bring over 2,500 participants from 18 countries to the heart of Desenzano.
A celebration of sport and the local area, ready to transform Desenzano and its hinterland into a stage of emotions, landscapes, and discovery.
Recognized as an official FIDAL event for the competitive 21km and 10km races, Stragardalake offers a total of three routes—21km, 10km, and 5km Urban—designed to accommodate runners and walkers of all levels. Whether running or walking, participants will pass through some of the most picturesque spots in the area: the lakefront, the morainic hills, vineyards, historic villages, and stretches immersed in the nature of Lake Garda. A journey that will culminate in an unforgettable arrival on the lakeside.

Among the guests at Desenzano del Garda Castle were Pietro Avanzi, Desenzano’s Councilor for Culture, Senator Paola Mancini, Lombardy Regional Councilor Diego Invernici, and Rolando Perri, President of FIDAL Brescia.
Pietro Avanzi greeted everyone present: “It is an honor for us to be here today. Desenzano is increasingly focused on sport and wellness. Thank you to everyone here. We will continue to work hard to ensure that Desenzano del Garda remains a city suited to sporting activities.”
Senator Paola Mancini then continued: “Stragardalake demonstrates how sport can enhance local areas and bring communities together. It is an event that attracts thousands of people here: a sign of energy and vision. Congratulations to the organizers and local institutions.”
Diego Invernici followed with his speech: “Initiatives like this show how much our region believes in sport as a driver of growth, tourism, and well-being. Thank you to those who cycle every day for passion and to those who, with commitment, contribute to enhancing our territory.”
Rolando Perri then took the floor: “We are proud to support Stragardalake, with its official distances of 21 and 10 km. Beautiful, technical routes immersed in a unique territory. An event that promotes sport and offers runners a high-quality experience.”
Finally, Stragardalake President Tazio Palvarini spoke: “Stragardalake was created to promote Lake Garda through sport. The routes are designed to offer unforgettable emotions and views. Thanks to the institutions and partners who believe in this project.”

The official jersey and medal for the first edition of Stragardalake were also presented at the event.
The jersey was created in collaboration with Repetita®, an Italian leader in sustainable textiles. Choosing Repetita® means wearing a garment produced without the use of new resources and with superior performance compared to traditional polyesters. It is a concrete choice for the planet, which makes participating in Stragardalake even more special.

Not just a race: Stragardalake is an experience to be enjoyed!
The 10 km and 21 km routes share a path that encapsulates all the magic of Lake Garda: the start is overlooking the lake, before diving into the Garda hinterland and the Lugana vineyards.
The 21 km route continues deeper into the hinterland, reaching one of the symbolic landmarks of the area: the Tower of San Martino, offering an iconic moment of the entire route.
The return to Desenzano is magical, with the last 3 km running along the spectacular lakeside promenade, passing the Port of Rivoltella, the Spiaggia d’Oro beach, and the Idroscalo Park: a truly exciting finale!
The 5 km Urban route is designed to take in the whole of Desenzano’s historic center: it crosses the heart of the city, touching on its most iconic and historically rich places. After starting on the lakefront, the route immediately enters the historic center, crossing Piazza Matteotti and Piazza Malvezzi, the true heart of city life.
A slight climb leads to Desenzano Castle and Piazza Garibaldi, before the descent that leads to the Cathedral and along Via Roma, the street that takes participants to the Roman Villa. A slight climb leads to Desenzano Castle and Piazza Garibaldi, before the descent that leads to the Duomo and along Via Roma, the street that takes participants to the Roman Villa. Then a finale to be enjoyed on the lakeside promenade, where the Food&Music area will be waiting at the finish line to end the day in the best possible way.
We look forward to seeing you on January 10-11 in Desenzano del Garda!
